Sandra Bernhard Performs at Byham (CP’s Sat. 4/27/13)

1) Multi-talented performer Sandra Bernhard takes the stage at the Byham Theater tonight. Bernhard is a successful stand-up comedian, musician, actress and author. She often pokes fun at popular culture and politicians.  Bernhard’s appeared in numerous TV shows including “Hot in Cleveland,” “Law and Order SVU,” and ” The New Adventures of Old Christine.” She also played the first openly gay character in a network sitcom, Roseanne, from 1991-1996. Musically she has performed with various artists including Elton John, the Isley Brothers, The Pretenders, and Cyndi Lauper. Her show is sure to be slightly raunchy, partly melodic, and totally funny. 8 p.m. 101 6th St. Cultural District.

2) The Penguins will “batten down the hatches” as the Carolina Hurricanes are in town for a hockey game. This is the last regular season game and starts at 7:30 p.m. Consol Energy Center. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

3) Manor at Midnight is a fun film series that starts as the clock strikes midnight every Saturday night at the Manor Theatre. Dazed and Confused  is tonight’s feature flick, a coming of age movie that focuses on a  group of high school students on their last day of school, in May 1976. Dazed and Confused combines school, girls, cars, and partying with a large ensemble cast, including actors Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey and Parker Posey,  1729 Murray Ave., Squirrel Hill.

4) South Side’s Smiling Moose hosts several hip hop bands including Proseed, Fortified PhonetX, Ivies, Advanced Placement, and Stillborn Identity. 9:30 p.m. 1306 E. Carson St.
