Ingrid Michaelson Plays Stage AE; Sunday Brunch at Steel Cactus (CPs Sun., 5/25/14)

1) Indie-pop singer and adult-alternative darling Ingrid Michaelson makes a stop in Pittsburgh tonight. She’s touring in support of her latest album Lights Out, which contains the hit “Girls Chase Boys.” Michaelson’s video for the song is an updated take on Robert Palmer’s”Addicted to Love video of the 1980s. Special guests are Storyman and Sugar and the Hi Lows 6:30 p.m. Stage AE, 400 North Shore Dr., North Shore.

2) The Steel Cactus on Walnut Street is open for Sunday Brunch from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.—perfectly timed to get you filled up and out before the Pirates game. The brunch menu includes Huevos Rancheros, Spicy Southwest Omelet, “Build Your Own Breakfast Burrito,” Breakfast Nachos, Steak and Eggs, Banana Pancakes, and French Toast served with eggs and bacon or sausage.  “Salud!” with a Bloody Mary or Bottomless Mimosas. 5505 Walnut St., Shadyside.

3) South Side’s Smiling Moose is keeping the Memorial Day weekend humming along with Massachusetts hardcore punk band Bane. Also on the bill are Turnstile and Take Offense. Show kicks off at 6 p.m. 1306 E. Carson St.

4) Our beloved Buccos take the diamond today against the Washington Nationals. It’s also Kids Day with all fans 14 and under receiving Andrew McCutchen N.L. MVP Wristbands and a chance to run the bases after the game. 1:35 p.m. 115 Federal St., North Shore.
