August Wilson Center Presents Juan De Marcos & The Afro-Cuban All Stars (CP’s Thurs. 3/21/13)

1) Juan De Marcos & The Afro-Cuban All Stars, one of the world’s most recognized Cuban orchestra’s are in concert tonight at the August Wilson Center.  They are a  multi-generational big band who play a wide variety of Latin dance music including, cha cha, rumba, salsa, mambo, bolero and more. Sounds like a show that will get your feet moving!! 7:30 p.m. 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District.

2) Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Oakland is offering free admission every Thursday evening in March thanks to The Jack Buncher Foundation. Enjoy exhibits about different culturesanimalsdinosaurs, minerals, nature and ancient Egypt, etc.4 – 8 p.m. 4400 Forbes Ave.

3) Boombox is pumping up the volume tonight at the South Side’s Rex Theatre. The band is made up of two talented and versatile musicians/producers, Russ Randolph and Zion Rock Godchaux who combine electronic vintage rock and blues with their signature backbeat, psychedelia and funk grooves for a pleasurable dance sound. 9 p.m. 1602 E. Carson St.

4) Dance off some carbs at Belvedere’s Ultra Dive NEON -80’s Night with DJ Hatesyou. 9 p.m. 4016 Butler St., Lawrenceville.
