Pens to Rumble With Jets (CP’s Thurs. 3/28/13)

1) “When you’re  a jet you’re a jet all the way” except when you’re in the ‘burg to rumble with the top gang in” NHL Land,” the Penguins. The Pens vs. Winnipeg Jets game starts at 7 p.m. Consol Energy Center. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

2) Thurgood continues its run at the Pittsburgh Public  Theater. Written by George Stevens, Jr., the play is based on the inspirational life of Thurgood Marshall, the nations first African-American Supreme Court Justice. It begins with his Baltimore upbringing and work as a waiter and continues  through his relationships with General MacArthur, Robert Kennedy and President Lyndon Johnson and his subsequent appointment  to the country’s top court. An uplifting performance about a remarkable person. 8 p.m.  Runs through April 7. O’Reilly Theater. 621 Penn Ave., Cultural District.

3) Détective, Brass Chariot and The Red Western are the rock bands set to play South Side’s Lava Lounge tonight. 10 p.m. 2204 E. Carson, St., South Side.

4) Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Oakland is offering free admission every Thursday evening in March thanks to The Jack Buncher Foundation. Enjoy exhibits about different culturesanimalsdinosaurs, minerals, nature and ancient Egypt, etc.4 – 8 p.m. 4400 Forbes Ave.
