NCAA Frozen Four Slides Into Town (CP’s Thurs. 4/11/13)

1) The NCAA Frozen Four (national collegiate hockey championship) kicks off today at Consol Energy Center with UMass-Lowell vs. Yale, 4:30 p.m. and  Quinnipiac vs. St. Cloud State, 8 p.m. The winner from each game will face off against each other Saturday at 7 p.m. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

2) Squirrel Hill’s Manor Theatre hosts JFILM 2013 (Jewish Film Festival) which opens tonight and runs through April 21. The festival features a diverse group of films including Hava Nagila, which traces the roots and history of the classic Jewish song and Paris Manhattan, about a young Parisian woman who views Woody Allen as her life coach and provides humorous insights into her Jewish family life.  The festival  features a diverse group of films ranging from Hava  Nagila (opens 4/21), which traces the roots of the  infectious Jewish celebration song, to Paris-Manhattan  (opens 4/11), the comedic struggle of a young Parisian woman and her quest to find Mr. Right, the ever-present pressures from  her well-meaning parents to get married, with Woody Allen as her life  coach. 1729 Murray Ave., Squirrel Hill.

3) Boulevard of the Allies, These Lions, and Gary Musisko Band are the alt-rock groups playing tonight at the South Side’s Lava Lounge. 10 p.m. 2204 E. Carson St.
