Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration (CP’s Tues. 6/18/13)

1) The Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration featuring Warren Haynes and the  Pittsburgh Symphony happens tonight. This signature event highlights Jerry Garcia’s original compositions in addition to new interpretations of the classic standards Garcia and the Grateful Dead played in concert. Noted rock guitarist and vocalist Warren Haynes (a Pittsburgh native) lends his talents to make Jerry Garcia’s music come alive. The symphony will be conducted by Fawzi Haimor. Arrangements created by Sean O’Loughlin, Chris Walden and Steven Bernstein. 7:30 p.m. Heinz Hall, 600 Penn Ave., Cultural District.

2) It’s Bike Night at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille tonight, get those Harleys, Hondas, and BMWs rolling. Entertainment outdoors with country music recording artist Jared Blake. 9 p.m. No cover. 103 Slade Ln, Warrendale.

3) Ceili Dancing will be happening at Mullaney’s Harp & Fiddle. This is participatory, which means, as the website says , “even on your first Tuesday night, you will dance.”The evening starts at 7:15 p.m. with lessons for beginners, then live music and dancing go from 8-10 p.m. 2329 Penn Ave., Strip District.

4) Steven Spielberg’s movie Hook, a spin-off of Peter Pan starring Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams and Julia Roberts (PG) is the featured flick showing as part of Citiparks Dollar Bank Cinema in the Park series. Dusk. Free. West End/Elliott Overlook.
