(Social) Distortion at Stage AE (CP’s Wed. 6/26/13)

1) Social Distortion, an American punk rock band that formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California plays Stage AE tonight. “Ball and Chain” and “Story of My Life.” two hits from their self-titled third album. remain immensely popular 23 years after their initial release. Opening acts Cheap Time and  Dave Hause guarantee rousing punkster energy. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. 400 North Shore Drive.

2) There’s a big rock show at Mr. Smalls Funhouse featuring Alesana with special guests The Color Morale, Upon This Dawning, Lions Lions and Megosh. Alesana is known for its ability to crank it up and rock heavy, but also being able to slow it down for some mellower songs.  6:30 p.m. 400 Lincoln Ave., Millvale.

3) Manicures & Martinis with a Twist of Trivia, is happening tonight at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. Special deals on manicures and martinis for the ladies. Test your trivia knowledge from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Air dry your new manicure while dancing to the music of Billy the Kid & the Regulators, 8:00 start time, no cover. 103 Slade Ln. Warrendale.

4) Check out the Bluegrass Jam at the Park House, an old historic tavern loaded with character and the first licensed bar in town post-prohibition Let your popcorn and peanut shells scatter onto the wooden floor. The Shelf Life String Band hosts this weekly event. Relax and enjoy the music or join the jam, either way Yuengling pints are only $2 from 9 p.m. to midnight. Free popcorn and peanuts. Jam starts at 9 p.m.  No cover. 403 E. Ohio St., North Side.
