Dazzling Nights at Pittsburgh Botanic Gardens (Fri., 12/29/23)

Entirely outdoors and spread over more than 40 acres of wild and indigenous flora, natural marshes and airy woodlands are the many walking trails and looping paths that comprise Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. It’s a spectacular experience any time of year, but, , now through New Year’s Day, the gardens give way to dazzling evening celebrations that illuminate and honor the nature of this incredible space. For Dazzling Nights: Pittsburgh Botanic Garden you’ll experience a field of 2,000 flickering flowers, Moroccan lanterns suspended from treetops, projected beams and beacons that react to sound, a 30’ tall tree of stained glass, and a path of illuminating pads to dance across. Whether chilly, snowy or foggy, perhaps, the greatest thrill of all is to walk this very manageable mile in the open air. Sure, there are plenty of other holiday destinations that boast their seasonal light displays––winking Santas, laughing snowmen, and reindeer flying over chimney tops––but that’s not what this is about. Some of the many experiences are interactive, some are naturally wonder-filled, and all of it is a joy to behold.

First entry begins at 5:30 pm. Reservations are required to minimize crowding. Snacks, desserts, and beverages are also available in special locations.  Through New Years Day. Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, 799 Pinkerton Run Road (near Oakdale, PA.)
