Duane Michals Photo Exhibition at CMOA; Roger Humphries Trio With Shawnee Lake at Savoy (CPs Mon., 11/24/14)

1) Chilly days are made for enjoying indoor art, and the hottest show in town—indeed, one of the hottest in the country—is Storyteller: The Photographs of Duane Michals at Carnegie Museum of Art. MIchals is a living legend if not a household name. Born in McKeesport, he rocked the New York art world (and gained a global following) with his very unusual photos that “tell stories.” Some are in sequences, like panels of a comic strip, and some have storytelling captions. Subjects range from the cosmic to the erotic to the laugh-out-loud absurd—as does Michals himself. Allow time to watch Duaneland, the 64-minute film screened continuously within the show. Through Feb. 16. 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland.

2) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays continues tonight with the Roger Humphries Trio and vocalist Shawnee Lake. 6 – 10 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3) Dumb and Dumber To – Just in case you’ve spent 20 breathless years waiting for a sequel to 1994’s Dumber and Dumber, you can now exhale. The Farrelly Brothers are back with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as two really stupid friends on a cross-country road trip trying to … hell, does it matter? Life is about the journey, not so much the destination. Check Fandango for screens and times.
