Florida State Seminoles vs. Pitt Panthers at Acrisure Stadium; Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers Play Rivers Casino (Sat., 11/4/23)

1) The Pitt Panthers Football team has had a disheartening season so far. However, now changes have been made. Christian Veilleux, who had a very rough outing against Notre Dame last week, is the latest starting quarterback. And just in time to face the number four team in the nation, the Florida State Seminoles. The Seminoles are 8-0,  while Pitt is 2-6. The Panthers have always been known to pull off some big upsets occasionally. Could this be the week of another? Stay tuned. 3:30 p.m. Acrisure Stadium, 100 Art Rooney Ave., North Shore.

2) Joe Grushecky and The Houserockers are very popular in every part of this region (and country) and this month they’ll be heatin’ up the ‘Burgh. Joe Grushecky’s latest album is 2018’s More Yesterdays Than Tomorrows. There is also a 25th Anniversary edition reissue of Grushecky and The Houserockers’ classic, American Babylon, which was produced by Bruce Springsteen. 3)  Christopher Mark Jones and his band, with Alex Meleshenko will be performing at the Song Space Concert Series tonight. Jones music is a pleasing sound of folk, country, blues, jazz and R&B. Meleshenko is a talented Pittsburgh guitarist. Located in the Shadyside neighborhood, Song Space at First Unitarian is a non-profit music series presenting American roots and world music performances by regional and national artists.
