Maple Leafs vs. Pens; Comedian Eddie Ifft Returns to Play Hometown (CPs Wed., 11/26/14)

1) Our feisty flightless birds—The Penguins—take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 7:30 p.m. game tonight at their square igloo, the Consol Energy Center, 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

2) Pittsburgh son and noted comedian Eddie Ifft returns home for a Thanksgiving week comedy run at Pittsburgh Improv. Ifft grew up in Fox Chapel and attended the University of Pittsburgh. Following graduation, he moved to New York City to try his hand at standup comedy. With successful gigs on the comedy club circuit, he landed appearances on BET’s “Comic View,” “Comedy Central Presents,” and NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” His success continued, and he received roles on projects with Tommy Chong and Queen Latifiah. He now lives in L.A. His “Talkin Sh*t” podcasts are some of the most popular in the comedy realm. 8 p.m. tonight, with shows continuing through Sunday. 166 E. Bridge St., Waterfront, Homestead.

 

3) Rosewater—the directorial debut of TV talk show host Jon Stewart. The film is based on the true story of a journalist on assignment in Iran who’s captured and tortured because of an interview he did on Stewart’s “The Daily Show.” Starring Gael García Bernal.
