Marcia Ball Plays Club Cafe; Red Ring at Duquesne Features Burgers, Pastas, and Happy Hour (Tues., 11/5/19)

1) New Orleans rockin’ blues singer and piano player Marcia Ball is appearing at Club Cafe. Her latest studio album is 2018’s Shine Bright, which was released by Alligator Records. Ball is also an “Austin City Limits” Hall of Fame inductee. She was part of the popular TV concert series’ inaugural season in 1976. Here she is singing and playing “Mobile.” 8 p.m. 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side. (EC, CM)

2) Gotta love a restaurant where happy hour starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Especially when it has the beer selection to match. Such is the case for the Red Ring Bar & Grille, a Duquesne campus restaurant. It’s open to all Pittsburghers, though—perfect for pregaming prior to an event at the PPG Paints Arena. The restaurant offers a lunch special every weekday. Key menu items include salads, hand-crafted burgers, sandwiches, and pastas. The Red Ring also earned a Gold Plate from Sustainable Pittsburgh for its locally sourced food, conservation efforts, and commitment to the community. Monday through Saturday 11:30 – 8 p.m. The Red Ring is closed on Sundays. 1015 Forbes Ave., Uptown. (CM)
