Marlins vs. Pirates; Tropical Tuesdays at brillobox (Tues., 5/26/15)

1) The Pirates are in action today against the Miami Marlins in a 7:05 p.m. game at PNC Park. There’s no bobbleheads, fireworks, or free T-shirts today, just good ol’ baseball play, cold beer, peanuts, and crackerjack. And hopefully a win! 115 Federal St., North Shore.

2) Getaway to the tropics with a trip to Brillobox for Tropical Tuesdays. There you’ll feel the trade winds (breeze from the fans) soothing your overdue vacation bones. Here’s a sampling of their specials: $3 select craft cans, $4 frozen drinks, $10 California bubble bath, $10 Eva Peron, $7 Fernet con cola, and $6 Coronita Margaveza. 3) The 39 Steps – One of the films which helped establish Alfred Hitchcock’s international reputation. Though this 1935 film is based on a John Buchan novel, it’s pure Hitchcock from beginning to end; from the wrong-man-on-the-run plot to the urbane witty villain to the first appearance of the icy, sophisticated “Hitchcock Blonde.” Robert Donat and Madeleine Carroll star is this comedy thriller that’s nothing but pure bliss. 10 p.m. Runs through May 28.
