Madama Butterfly Takes Flight (CP’s Sun. 3/24/13)

1) Today’s the last day to see Pittsburgh Opera’s production of the classic Madama Butterfly by Puccini. A tale of  love gone wrong between an American sailor, Benjamin Franklin Pinkerton and a Japanese woman, Cio-Cio San, who gives up everything to be with him.  2 p.m. Benedum Center. 237 7th St., Cultural District.

2) The “Broad Street Bullies” (Philadelphia Flyers)  are in town to take on our beloved Pens. Let’s send them back to Philly in a bad mood. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Consol Energy Center.  1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

3) If you’re a conspiracy theorist or in to good jazz, or both, Jazz Conspiracy is belting out the jazz tunes at Jergel’s Rhythm Grill tonight. 7 p.m. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.

4) National metal-core bands The Devil Wears Prada and As I Lay Dying (Christian metal-core)  are in concert at Mr. Smalls Funhouse for a two night stand. Special guests are For Today and The Chariot. 7 p.m. 400 Lincoln Ave., Millvale.
