Pirates take on the Cardinals in Home Opener; Pens in Action at Consol vs. Flyers (Sun., 4/3/16)

1) “Give me some peanuts and Cracker Jack” our Pirates take on the St. Louis Cardinals in the home opener today. This game usually sells out so get your tickets early. If it does sell out check the internet re-seller sites and even your friendly unofficial salesperson outside PNC Park. It’s a 1:05 p.m. game so don’t forget your sunscreen in case the sun pops out from behind the clouds for an extended period of time. Oh, by the way, it’s also magnetic schedule premium day. 115 Federal St., North Shore.

2) The Pens face off against our old friends (foes) from Philadelphia the Flyers in a 5 p.m. game at Consol Energy Center. Let’s check the “bullies” all the way back up the Turnpike to King of Prussia! Next up for the team is an away game Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

3) Hearty Sunday dinners aren’t just for the meat eaters or the financially comfortable. Grab some friends and head over to Brillobox for the Starving Artist Sunday Suppers. Every Sunday, the restaurant’s chef creates a different hearty vegetarian meal and offers it for just $7 to give you a break from your regularly scheduled ramen du jour. You’ll want to get there early, as the special only goes until the food runs out (and at that price, it will). 5 p.m. 4104 Penn Ave., Bloomfield.
