Pittsburgh Winter Restaurant Week Kicks Off; MLK Day Community Event at Kelly Strayhorn (Mon., 1/15/24)

1) It’s Pittsburgh Restaurant Week Winer 2024! Why is this important to you? A group of Pittsburgh restaurants are offering extra special deals through January 21, including multi-course prix fixe meals, many ending in 24 cents, specialties, or other dining deals. Restaurants include: LeMont Pittsburgh, Grand Concourse Restaurant, Bae Bae’s Kitchen, Khalil’s Middle Eastern Restaurant, Leon’s Caribbean, Coast and Main Seafood and Chophouse, Sullivan’s Steakhouse, Garabino’s, Fujiya Ramen, Muddy Waters Oyster Bar, Rivers Club, Senti, Bonfire, Carmella’s Plates and Pints, Franklin Inn Mexican Restaurant, Café Momentum, and more. 2) The Kelly Stryahorn Theater is celebrating the life, legacy, and activism of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through their annual MLK community event. The theater’s lobby will feature family-friendly activities with True T Pgh, Young Black Motivated Kings & Queens, Repair the World, City of Asylum and Assemble. In the theater performances will be hosted by Jacquea Mae. Performances from local groups include Hill Dance Academy Theatre, K-Theatre Dance Complex, and Alumni Theater Company. All will be celebrating the civil rights legacy of Dr. King and Pittsburgh activists past and present. Special guest Councilman Khari Mosley will give opening remarks. Admission charge is Pay What Moves You ($0 to $25). Noon to 3 p.m. 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty.
