Pizzaiolo Primo is a cornerstone of Market Square. No doubt, in part, to the authentic Italian food served—the pizzas are certified Vera Pizza Napoletana, a designation of Neapolitan authenticity given by the True Neapolitan Pizza Association, headquartered in Naples. The menu includes other entrees, such as some favorite pasta dishes. One standout is the cavatelli rapini, which is small pasta shells with sausage. There’s also a variety of spirits and espresso-based drinks. A happy hour menu, which features appetizers, drinks, and pizza margherita, is available at the bar too. Patrons can dig the decor—mosaic cherubs and a wood-fired pizza oven, just like Italy. Or enjoy outdoor seating, perfect for people watching. The restaurant also caters, takes reservations, and hosts private events. Its mobile pizza oven is ready for events off site. 8 Market Square, Downtown. (CM)

A dash of rapini adds an excellent complement to both the house-made sausage and cavatelli.
