Tall Ships Erie 2022 Celebration Sets Sail Today (Thurs., 8/25/22)

Tall ships are returning to Erie once again. From August 25 to 28 Erie’s home sloops the Brig Niagara and Lettie G. Howard will be joined by tall ships from Canada, Spain, and U.S. and Canadian cities. And remember the huge yellow duck floating art installation that caused a big buzz when it premiered in Pittsburgh in 2013? Well mama duck  will be in Erie too and accompanied by its inflatable baby duck. Can it get any cuter? There will also be live music and entertainment, children’s activities, a festival marketplace, and food vendors. The parade of sails is today at 4 p.m. Also during the three-day Tall Ships Erie event, sailings for the public are offered on select ships. Erie also boasts a wonderful Maritime Museum.
