The Original Oyster House Celebrates 150th Birthday (Mon., 10/12/20)

Established in 1870, the Original Oyster House is the oldest bar and restaurant in Pittsburgh. Two world wars, a Great Depression, a Great Recession, and myriad other worldwide calamities never stopped it, and this current one isn’t either. Patrons can order for pick-up from its full regular menu during modified hours. The menu includes its Famous Jumbo Fish Sandwich ($8) and Lightly Breaded Oyster Sandwich ($8.99). The Salmonburger ($7.50)—served with lettuce, tomato, and chips—is another tasty meal. (Prices do not include tax). Gift cards are also available for purchase. 20 Market Square, Downtown. (CM)

These are The Original Oyster House’s 150th Birthday Party Plans:

The Original Oyster House will be filled with birthday cheer including free Bethel Bakery cupcakes (with purchase), live music from Brad Wagner (1:00 – 5:00 p.m. on the patio), and all-day giveaways of swag from Iron City Brewing and The Original Oyster House. The restaurant will open at 11am and stay open until at least 7 pm. Additional surprises and visitors are expected to be announced throughout the week.
