Women Who Rock Annual Concert and Fundraiser w/Ann Wilson and The Vindy’s; Rayland Baxter and Flyte at Thunderbird (Sat., 10/21/23)

1) Maybe you don’t want to miss this year’s Women Who Rock mega-concert at Stage AE. The headliner is Ann Wilson of Heart and Tripsitter, who’s been proving that a woman with an operatic soprano can rock as hard as anybody ever since her “Barracuda” days.  Also on the bill are The Vindys, fronted by the dynamic singer/songwriter Jackie Popovec, and the utterly, electronically entrancing Madame Trio. Better yet, this is a fundraiser with the proceeds—as always—helping to address women’s health issues at Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation. The event is presented by Gibson Gives. Doors open 6:30 p.m. 400 North Shore Dr., North Shore. (R.H., M.V.)

2) The up and coming UK indie duo Flyte is opening for Nashville singer/songwriter Rayland Baxter tonight at the Thunderbird Cafe and Music Hall. Recently the group shared a live performance of “Tough Love” with Oscar-nominee Florence Pugh that received rave reviews from many national music mags. Their self-titled album is due out on October 27th and is produced by Grammy-winning producer Andrew Sarlo (Big Thief, Courtney Marie Andrews) with features from Laura Marling, Billie Marten, members of Bombay Bicycle Club, and more. Flyte will be embark on their U.S. headline tour with a full band on November 13. 8 p.m. 4053 Butler St., Lawrenceville.
